What skills are needed to operate PACO ?

PACO has been designed for profesionnal painters, not for engineers. User experience and ease of use are at the heart of the new robot’s methodology. PACO can be easily manipulated after a 2-hour training. This saves a lot of time on construction sites.

How much time can I save on a construction site?

The current painting speed (painting without any human handling) is 180 m²/h and should be even faster with the next updates. The time saved depends on the type of job: as there is a minimum deployment time, PACO is particularly efficient on large surfaces with a high volume of work.

How much does PACO weigh and how tall is it?

The robot currently weighs 300kg. We are working to reduce its weight and make it more ergonomic. It can be transported with a crane or separated into 3 parts (handles are integrated in each part for ease of transportation). It is 135 cm long and 76.8 cm wide to fit through the doors.

What type of paint does PACO use?

PACO uses only water-based paints without solvents.

What are the risks of using PACO?

PACO is in the process of obtaining CE certification, to guarantee the safety of people and minimize its impact on the environment. Safety is one of the main assets of PACO, it reduces the risk of falls andaccidents on sites by automating the painting process up to 3.5 meters.

Is this robot intended to replace painters?

No, PACO is a collaborative robot that needs a painter to be used, we do not want to replace humans but increase by letting the machine work on the thankless and repetitive tasks and leaving the fine work and decision making to humans. PACO work in collaboration with humans to make us faster, more efficient and therefore more productive while protecting their human from the drudgery of the job.

What is the life span of PACO ?

PACO has a lifespan of approximately 8 years. The average life of an industrial machine is 10 to 15 years, but on construction sites, this value is reduced because of the hostile environment.

How long does it take to set up the robot and program it?

It takes only a few minutes to bring the robot to the site and 20sec to scan a room of 50 m². Programming is very quick as the tool is designed to be very intuitive.

What are the PACO's functions ?

For the moment PACO is only able to paint. We are preparing some new and interesting functions (but be quiet, it’s under development 😉)

How many litres of paint can PACO use?

The PACO is fed by paint cartridges with a capacity of 15L. Depending on the paint, it paints about 150m² with one cartridge.

How long can PACO operate?

PACO comes with two rechargeable batteries. These can operate for 3 hours. After 2 hours of charging, PACO can be operational 24/24h.

When can I buy PACO?

You can already test PACO through a pilot test on your construction sites and participate in a partnership to further develop future versions of PACO with us. The commercialization is planned for 2023.

On what type of construction site can PACO operate?

PACO is an interior painting assistant. It is designed for volume and large surfaces: ERP (schools, offices, hospitals, stores, public establishments…), industrial or premium housing with accesses, wide corridors and volume. PACO can intervene as well on construction projects as on large renovation projects.

Is there a way to clean the robot after painting?

Yes, PACO has an automatic cleaning system using water or environmentally friendly solvents. This cycle takes 12 minutes it’s highly automated.

What type of ground can PACO move on?

PACO can move on all types of ground thanks to its dense foam wheels It can pass obstacles of 20mm and has a ground clearance of 40mm.

Is PACO accurate?

PACO requires masking of unpainted areas. PACO exceed mildly over the marking and when the masking is removed the details are clean and perfectly cut.
